PANS UNILAG, in collaboration with Advantage Health Africa, is pleased to announce the winners of the essay contest on “Intersection of Technology and The Daily Practice of Nigerian Pharmacists”. The contest was aimed at exploring the role of technology in the practice of Nigerian pharmacists.
After thorough evaluation of the entries received from various institutions across Nigeria, the judges declared Peace Opaka Prayer as the winner of the contest. Peace Opaka Prayer was awarded a sum of 50,000 naira for her outstanding essay on the impact of technology on the practice of pharmacy in Nigeria.
The first-runner up, Taiwo Ifeoluwa, was awarded a sum of 30,000 naira for his essay on how technology can improve medication adherence among patients. While the second runner-up, Odifa Samuel Oluwasegun, received a sum of 20,000 naira for his essay on the use of technology to enhance pharmaceutical care in Nigeria.
The essay contest was aimed at encouraging young pharmacists to think critically about the role of technology in the pharmacy profession and how it can be leveraged to improve patient care and outcomes. The winners’ essays highlighted the importance of embracing technology to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and safety of pharmaceutical care in Nigeria.
